Finally, after two years, got my cards produced. Better late than clever...

Mercedes ML launch, Legends Resort, Limpopo

The ML launch was cold - the extravaganza outside in the Bushveld despite temperatures near freezing. Odd. The car is predictably efficient, if somewhat lacking in both fire and personality. The place is very Sandton in the bush meets kitsch East Rand. The Sewe Snare on guitar were wonderful, as were the white lions next morning at Entabeni Reserve.

 

Calitzdorp, AA Traveller

Calitzdorp a pleasant surprise - turn off the R62 and the town is intriguing. Met Hylton and his lover Bernard on the Withoek Road, as well as the very talented photographer Roger Young, Lawrence Huckstep and the unputdownable Zelma Kriege of Strooi Kooi, the straw bale guesthouse.

The drive down the Groenfontein road to Rogers' was a highlight - what a road - and it circles back onto the R62 through Red Stone Hills.
